Wednesday 8th
of May Nairobi Toastmasters Club pulled off a first. They successfully hosted
the first ever Table Topics contest in Kenya. The speakers were brilliant,
witty and confident. The president was hilarious and the contest chair/toastmaster
fantastic. The VPE Nairobi Toastmasters club had promised us a thrilling and
fun event but we got a bomb.
As each of the twelve participants responded to the question:
“Dishonesty or telling a lie is considered unacceptable. Some people however believe that telling a white lie is okay and can sometimes be considered a good thing. Do you agree?”
I got
to hear statements like:
Father of
the lie john 8:44
Pushing a deadline until it dies
Dishonesty is a measure of relativity of how we see the world
Dishonesty is how we survive life
Pushing a deadline until it dies
Dishonesty is a measure of relativity of how we see the world
Dishonesty is how we survive life
Tell you
what, I recommend you get hold of any speaker that is ready to share with you the youtube link to their speech.
You will love it. You can also try your luck at http://nairobi.toastmastersclubs.org/Nairobi_Toastmasters_videos.html
As for me, my complain that Kenyans have become pathological liars is now sedated.
